DIGIPAK

Digipak-style packaging is often used for CDsingles or special editions of CD albums. They consist of a book-style paperboard/outer binding with one or more plastic trays that hold a CD. This CD is stored inside the digipak. There are different types of digipaks. For example, we can buy a 4, 6 or 8 panel digipak. The difference between each of these is that the higher the number, the more information/pictures there will be; as well as a different layout. A digipak is very beneficial to a band/artist. This is because the front of the digipak will represent the band/artist and will show what genre their music is. A digipak is likely to give a message to the audience about the artist’s image. This links to promoting the artist themselves, which can increase their popularity. All aspects of the digipak, music video and image are woven together. Digipaks help to sell the artist and encourage consumers to actually buy their product so they can make money from it. People who buy a digipak tend to be the ones that like the artist a lot because the album/single will contain only the music from the artist/band and nobody else. Our group will be making a 4-panel digipak consisting of a front cover, two insides and one back.

This is where the front cover of the Digipak would be shown. This is what would represent the artist/band as it would give the audience a representation of the artists/bands image.
The digipak disk would be found here. The plastic is moulded so that the disk can fit securely inside.
Inside the front cover of the digipak is the booklet with the list of tracks featured in the digipak alongisde a list of producers, song-writers, editors etc.
At the back of the digipak there would be a back cover which is where a list of the tracks that are provided on the track would be written in order.
The spine of the digipak.
